Learning & Development
Here in the East Midlands RRDN we offer lots of opportunities to develop and, as you probably know, today it is not all about the classroom.
We offer face to face sessions, virtual classrooms, learning videos, elearning, blended learning courses and sometimes, just good old fashioned resources on bits of paper... although you'll probably have to download them and print them yourself!
But... what does it mean!?
Some of the terminology we use can be confusing but, when it comes to your learning, here is what we mean:
Face to Face: Good old fashioned sitting in a room together, although you will probably have to book this online.
Virtual Classroom: Like Face to Face but taking place in an online classroom, usually Google Meet.
eLearning: Access anytime online modules that contain lots of interesting audio, video and interactive content.
Blended Learning: A mixture of eLearning and either Face to Face or Virtual Classsroom. This approach helps consolidate learning.
Video: Stand alone learning video. This could be on Youtube or other hosting service.
Resources: This could be a list of useful links or a printout of a job aid, anything that you might find useful day to day.
Don't get hung up on how it is delivered though, the main thing is that it is all learning. And, if you haven't tried one of the newer ways of doing things don't be afraid to try it. It might be just the thing for you!
Below are a selection of resources that we feel you might find useful. Some face to face courses, some eLearning modules, videos and other resources. Click on the images to open in a new tab.
Some modules listed are hosted on the NIHR's national learning space NIHR Learn or other learning environments outside of the network.
To access resources on NIHR Learn you will need to log in using your NIHR account details. If you haven't got an NIHR account you can find out what you need to do here.
