Outstanding Achievement by an Team
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an outstanding achievement by a research team in the East Midlands. It may be a team that has really gone above and beyond what would normally be expected of them in order to achieve outstanding results. There may be a particular outstanding achievement, an exceptional contribution toward efficiency and effectiveness of operations, special efforts in promoting portfolio research or outstanding service to the research community.
Putting Patients First
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an individual or team that has gone the extra mile for research participants, patients, carers or service users. The nominee may have transformed the way patients and the public are involved or engaged in research. Their work may have a direct impact on changing patients’ lives or transformed the way research is delivered to improve the experience of patients, carers, service users or members of the public.
Rising Star
This category provides the opportunity to recognise the impact on NIHR portfolio research made by a newly established research team or individual new to research in 2020 or 2021. It may be a newly formed research team that has been achieving rapid results, a team that has been bolstered by an invaluable new addition or someone that has gone above and beyond expectations to make a positive impact on research delivery.
Excellent example of collaborative working
This category provides an opportunity to recognise excellent examples of collaborative working across the East Midlands. It may be staff across an organisation coming together to enable successful delivery of portfolio studies. Perhaps teams have broken down barriers to find ways of working across organisational boundaries or worked collaboratively with different stakeholders to find innovative new ways of working to achieve demonstrable success.
Special recognition award for contribution to COVID-19 research
This category provides the opportunity to recognise an individual or team that has made an extraordinary contribution to the COVID-19 research response. We are aware of how incredibly hard so many people have worked over the past 18 months to deliver research as part of the response to the pandemic. Whilst everyone's dedication and impact is celebrated by us, this award will give us the opportunity to acknowledge an individual or team whose contribution really stands out. This could be by supporting Urgent Public Health research, through the COVID19 vaccine research programme, via the Recovery, Resilience and Growth (RRG) programme to resume research or in recognition of going the extra mile to prioritise and support staff wellbeing; we want to hear what makes the nominee stand out.
